USI is apart of the RAK Logistics group in the USA. Our international department is a hardworking group of individuals who work together as a team to service ocean imports and exports for our customers. We are made up of people of all backgrounds and personalities creating a fun, dynamic, fast pace environment. We are looking for an experienced Senior Agent to join our team and help take the lead within the department.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Senior Import Logistics Agent will be responsible for activities relating to arranging documentation and logistics of cargo to worldwide markets. This position includes arranging import bookings, communication with customers, agents and vendors across the globe. The Senior Agent will be expected to handle the company’s top accounts and take the lead on new customers.

Essential Functions

Import duties may include:

  • Negotiates regionally with carriers for competitive rates and space.
  • Resolves ocean import challenges for our internal and external customers.
  • Extensive global knowledge of import requirements for shipments arriving in all the USA.
  • Arranging schedules with our core and regional ocean/air carriers.
  • Meet all accounting requirements, keeping our payable current and accurate per company policy.
  • Attend various regulatory training/seminars/meetings; i.e., TSA FAA & DG etc.

QUALIFICATIONS - SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Min 5 years of experience in an Import customer service type environment required.
  • Prefer excellent experience handling ocean, export & import trafficking functions.
  • A college degree is preferred but similar work experience may suffice.
  • Must be able to work in a super-fast paced environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills and a strong attention to detail are required.
  • Candidate should have the ability to learn various computer programs.
  • Min. 3-5 years of Cargo Wise One experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Good Communicator, respectful character; and a team player.
  • High level of customer service and attention to details with customs/prospects
  • Keep highly accurate physical records and update shipment data continuously
  • Maintain all cost according to company's established criteria as directed by supervisors.
